A very smooth, steamed purée, with no salt or sugar. Introduce one new vegetable every 3 days to spot any reactions. Milk remains the basis of nutrition.
- Bottle: about 180 ml
- Purée jar: about 50 g
- Handy rule: bottle = 230 − jar (in ml)
Week by week
Week 1
One vegetable at a time, a new vegetable every 3 days.
Lunch (12 pm): 1 bottle + 1 jar of vegetable purée.
Week 2
Snack time begins. Potato thickens the lunch purée.
Lunch: 1 bottle + 1 jar (vegetables + ¼ potato).
Snack (4 pm): 1 bottle + 1 jar of cooked fruit.
Week 3
Lunch: 1 bottle + 1 jar (vegetables + potato + 1 tsp blended meat, poultry or fish).
Snack: 1 bottle + 1 jar of cooked fruit.
Week 4
Infant cereal OR potato — not both in the same meal.
Lunch: 1 bottle + 1 jar (vegetables + ⅓ tsp infant cereal + protein).
Snack: 1 bottle + 1 jar of cooked fruit.
Week 5
The jar is complete: vegetable, starch, protein, fat.
Lunch: 1 bottle + 1 jar (vegetables + cereal + protein + ¼ tsp raw rapeseed oil or butter).
Snack: 1 bottle + 1 jar of cooked fruit.
Keep in mind
- Pace: 1 new food per day, never two on the same day. Watch the skin and stools.
- Allergens: introduced early and regularly, in the morning, one at a time. Do not delay out of caution.
- Hydration: from 4 months, 20–30 ml of still water per meal. Freely from 6 months.
- Equipment: steamer, blender, fine sieve, ice-cube trays to freeze 30 g portions.
